Laser Cut Inlay Pens

As the name implies, the bodies of the pens in this category come from laser cut inlay blanks.  The blanks are manufactured by the use of a computer-aided drafting/design program that allows various shapes and sizes to be transferred to a wood blank.  The various colors used are achieved through the use of either different species of woods or the use of vacuum chamber stabilization and dyes.  The blanks must be put together in a manner similar to a jigsaw puzzle prior to turning and finishing as a pen.  Blanks of this type can entail an enormous amount of time during the assembly process to achieve just the right fit between the pieces.
